Meet Our Doctor - Dr. Randall N. Freed

Dr. Randall N. FreedDr. Randall Freed started Cornell Family Dental in 1978 where he calls home—Cedar Mill. He chose private practice after completing his general practice residency with the U.S. Public Health Service in Baltimore, Maryland—the only place he has resided outside of his home area. Dr. Freed earned his DMDdegree with high honors from the University of Oregon Dental School (now Oregon Health & Science University) in 1976, and graduated from Oregon State University, Sunset High, Meadow Park Junior High and Barnes Elementary.

Dr. Freed has served as a Washington County Dental Society president, Oregon Dental Association trustee, volunteer for many other industry organizations and Academy of General Dentistry member with fellowship status. He has also partaken in the Donated Dental Services Program since 1989, providing dental care for disabled, elderly and mentally compromised patients. Further, he prioritizes continuing education, regularly participating in a wide variety of study clubs and courses. Serving the local community, Dr. Freed has been elected to local school and project advisory committees.

Personally, Dr. Freed is married to his high school sweetheart and has three married adult children. His oldest daughter, Lindsay, is a practicing dentist. He is an avid sportsman, particularly enjoying fly fishing.

Gayle – Office Manager

GayleGayle joined Cornell Family Dental more than 25 years ago, after graduating with honors from both a PCC business management program, and North Pacific Medical and Dental College. At Cornell Family Dental, she especially likes that she has been able to develop a strong history with Dr. Freed and many patients over the years. Outside of work, Gayle loves spending time with her children, grandchildren and granddogs. She also enjoys reading, sewing, gardening and traveling with her husband.

Judy, RDH – Dental Hygienist

JudyJudy joined Cornell Family Dental as a dental hygienist in 1989, after earning her RDH from the university now known as Oregon Health & Science University. In her free time, she likes to travel, attend Broadway musicals at the Keller Auditorium in Portland and visit the Beaverton Farmers Market every Saturday—where she enjoys running into patients.

Amy, RDH – Dental Hygienist

AmyAmy started at Cornell Family Dental as a dental hygienist in 2001, after earning her RDH from Oregon Health & Science University in 1998. Amy really likes getting to know new patients as well as catching up with patients she has treated over the years. Personally, she enjoys skiing, camping and many other activities with her husband, TJ, 3½-year-old son, Noah, and dog, Yogi.

April, EFDA – Dental Assistant

AprilApril came to Cornell Family Dental after earning her Dental Assisting Certificate in expanded functions from Chemeketa Community College in 1999. She also earned her sealant certification and has worked in the Pacific Northwest for 11 years. At Cornell Family Dental, she particularly enjoys working with Dr. Freed and the staff, and making patients feel comfortable. Outside of work, she likes to spend time with her husband of seven years, Chris, and 2-year-old son, Braydon, shop and revitalize outdoors.

Kathy – Dental Assistant

KathyKathy recently joined Cornell Family Dental after completing training in 2010. She particularly enjoys meeting patients and looks forward to spending more time at our practice. Kathy has volunteered on the Tooth Taxi, helping provide dental care to children in underserved areas. At home, Kathy has three boys in high school—who keep her quite busy!
